Neil - Tenor
Neil is our most musically gifted singer. A pianist and classical singer, Neil has been singing barbershop since 2006. Neil also sings with the Southend Festival Chorus and the Encore Harmony Singers.
The tenor part is the highest in male barbershop, so Neil's voice adds piquancy to the harmonies.

John - Lead
John is an enthusiastic singer who brings our songs to life. John is a self-taught singer and pulls the group along on a wave of emotion. John's love of music has rubbed off on his family - his son having his own band (Oink).
As lead, John gets to sing the tune for most of our songs.

Simon - Baritone
Simon is our most accomplished performer, having sung in front of an audience of 10,000 with Funky Voices. Simon's time with "The Funkies" also resulted in the group raising over £100,000 for charity. Simon started singing barbershop in 2012.
It's often said that the baritone sings the notes "that nobody else wants". This however completes the harmony and so it vital to the barbershop sound.

Paul - Bass
After singing in the school choir, Paul took a 25 year break from singing before being inspired at a Learn to Sing day run by the Essex Chordsmen. Paul takes his inspiration from his mother who has been singing for over 60 years in various amateur operatic groups and choirs.
As a bass, Paul gets all the lowest notes and often sets the rhythm for songs.
